HSE Objectives and Goals – We Take Health & Safety Seriously
For Vein Petroleum the Health, Safety and Environment objectives relate to all phases of an asset from acquisition to decommissioning. High HSE standards will be deployed and upheld in all stages of detailed design, procurement, construction, installation, drilling, hook-up and commissioning and full field operation.
The overall objective is to provide facilities and operations in respect of which all risks to personnel, the environment and the assets will be identified and minimized to as low as reasonably practicable.
For residual risks, the objective is to control the consequences of an event without serious injury, loss of life, damage to the environment or damage to the asset.
Vein Petroleum operates a “GOAL ZERO” HSE policy and have zero tolerance for incidences.
HEALTH
We ensure a healthy environment is maintained with no health incidents in all our operational areas and strive improve the health awareness of personnel and all contractors and subcontractors.
Our Strategy Include :
▪ Reduction of exposure to hazardous substances, noise, vibration, chemical handling, and manual lifting.
▪ Construction material and equipment are appraised to control health risks. Those proven or known to be injurious to health are discarded or minimized with use of the COSHH regulations.
▪ Work site supervision is very intensive in controlling hazards and their effects.
▪ Medical & Occupational Nurses ensure disease-vector control, and that good quality food and water are served by certified caterers in operational locations. There will be no use or possession of intoxicants or illicit drugs by any person on any of the project work sites or operational base. Persons found to be in possession or under the influence of such substances shall be terminated from the job.

We are committed to conducting our operations in a safe and environmentally friendly manner as good stewards of God’s given resources. Accordingly, we educate and train all employees, contractors and visitors to comply with our HSE standards in order to protect life, the environment, and our assets
In recognition of environmental conservationalism, our work flows employ technologies that reduce waste and promote cleaner environment and reduction of our carbon footprint. Our environmental standards include a focus on emissions flaring, oil spill, water stewardship and waste management.
Our operations and activities are tailored towards a GOAL ZERO policy objective such that our impact on the environment is minimal. We achieve this through strong governance structures and collaboration with our industry partners, suppliers, government & non-governmental organizations.

The Company’s approach to the subject of community relations has a different spin from what currently obtains. Ours is a paradigm shift and a mindset change that that leads to a more sophisticated and strategic way of planning and delivering community program called Mutually Agreed Relationship Framework (MARF).
In MARF, the emphasis is to create a ‘shared value’ by aligning business goals and objectives with the development priorities of our communities. This trend is expected to include a focus on building Social Capital and local leadership through multi-stakeholder process, factoring sustainability and exit strategy.
